Winter relief given to the Poor tribal people at Wayanad district in Kerala from the Koyilandy Math

On Sunday, 1st December 2024, we distributed a saree and a blanket to each of the 100 tribal families residing in the 4 blocks of the village Mananthavady in Wayanad district, Kerala. Many of these families were severely affected by the recent disaster during the rainy season in August 2024 in the same district and have also benefited from our relief efforts.

Organized a spiritual retreat and Nara Narayana Seva at Koyilandy Math

On Sunday, 24th November 2024, Ramakrishna Math, Koyilandy, organized an event to demonstrate the integration of the four yogas. As part of our Karma Yoga initiative, we conducted a Nara Narayana Seva (poor feeding) programme during the noon session. We served a delicious lunch prasad, traditionally called Sadhya in Malayalam, to a group of Ayyappa Swamis who were preparing for their pilgrimage to Sabarimala. In addition, students of the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa from the fisherman community of the Arabian Sea and some local underprivileged families were also served the same lunch prasad. In total, we distributed lunch prasad to around 90 people.
In the evening session, as part of integrating the other Yogas, we conducted a Spiritual Retreat for the devotees. The retreat commenced with Vedic chanting, followed by readings from the books of the Holy Trio, meditation, bhajans, and a discourse. Swami Bhavapriyanandaji Maharaj of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore, delivered an insightful talk in Malayalam for the devotees and others present. The retreat concluded with a closing song, and prasad was distributed to approximately 40 people.

Celebrated Children's Day at Koyilandy Math

On Thursday, November 14, 2024, we commemorated the birthday of Swami Vijananandaji Maharaj, one of the direct disciples of Bhagwan Shri Ramakrishna, and the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. On this auspicious occasion, we celebrated Children's Day at our premises.
The event aimed to inspire and motivate the students of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa with essential values for their future. The programme commenced at 4:30 pm with Vedic prayers by the students, followed by various activities.
On the occasion of Children's Day, four students from various classes spoke about the significance of education and discipline. The celebration was further enriched by melodious performances, as some students sang heartfelt songs.
Swami Sundarananda also spoke a few words about Swami Vijananandaji Maharaj's life and message, highlighting its relevance to everyday life and its impact on shaping the students' future careers.
We were honoured to have two distinguished guests, Mr Vimal, a higher secondary school teacher, and Mrs Soumya, a volunteer of Ramakrishna Math, both of them shared valuable ideas on obligations to parents and society.
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks and a closing song. Approximately 65 students and parents participated, receiving snacks Prasad before departing.

Conducted a Health awareness programme at Koyilandy Math

The students and parents of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa, primarily from the fishermen community, lack access to basic facilities and are unaware of essential health and mental well-being practices. Despite their academic achievements, they require guidance on fundamental values.
To address this, we organized a health awareness programme at our premises on Saturday, November 09, 2024. Sahani Hospital, Nandi Bazar, Koyilandy, Kozhikode district, kindly collaborated with us. Dr. Haris, a pediatric specialist, and Mr. Karnal M Mohan, Administrator, shared valuable insights on health and wellness with the parents and students.
We concluded the programme by distributing snacks and prasad to 73 parents and students of GAP.

Celebrated Holy Kali puja at Koyilandy Math

On Thursday, 31st October 2024, we celebrated Kali Puja at our Ashrama, where the picture of Ma Kali was enshrined beside the Holy Trinity. In connection with this occasion, our Ashrama was beautifully illuminated with lights, and fireworks added to the joyous atmosphere.
The Ma Kali Puja began after Sandhya Arati and was followed by bhajans and pushpanjali. At the conclusion of the puja, approximately 60 devotees who attended the ceremony partook of the prasad and received the blessings of Ma Kali.

Distributions of Sarees and woollen jacket from Koyilandy Math

On the occasion of the Navratri festival, we had the privilege of serving the flood-affected people in two foothill areas, Vilangadu and Meppayur Colony, in Kozhikode district on Sunday, 6th October 2024. We provided 75 beneficiaries with a saree for each woman and a woollen jacket for each man. Their faces beamed with joy upon receiving the clothes.

Celebrated Mahatma Gandhi birthday Jayanthi at Koyilandy Math

On the auspicious occasion of Subha Mahalaya, the birthday of Srimat Swami Akhandanandaji Maharaj, and the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, we had the blessed opportunity to celebrate these events on Wednesday 2nd October 2024 with various programmes, especially for children, along with devotees and volunteers. Our celebration was particularly focused on honouring Mahatma Gandhi and his profound impact on the people across the country.
The programme began with a Vedic prayer and an opening song by the students of the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa, followed by speeches from the students and teachers.
In connection with this, important speeches were delivered by Swami Shivakumaranadaji of Ramananda Ashrama, Chengottukavu, and a retired teacher, Sri Ramesh P. They shared insightful messages about Mahatma Gandhi that are especially relevant for students and society at large.
Additionally, a dedicated volunteer of Koyilandy Math, who resides near our Ashrama, Sri. Vinil Raj was recognized for his honesty. A few days ago, while withdrawing money from an ATM, he found Rs 10,000 that someone had left behind. He immediately handed the money over to the bank manager. In recognition of his sincerity, magnanimity, and pure heart, Ramakrishna Math Koyilandy presented him with a token of appreciation – a set of Holy Trinity photos and a cash award of Rs 1,000, which was given by our chief guest during the holy celebration.

Organized a Spiritual Retreat at Koyilandy Math 

We organized a spiritual retreat for the devotees of Koyilandy Math on Sunday, 22nd September 2024. The proceedings commenced at 4:00 pm with Vedic prayers and an opening song, followed by guided meditations, readings from the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, and talks of Holy Mother Sarada Devi, including Swami Vivekakananda's conversations with His disciple by three devotees.To maintain a spiritual ambience, Brahmachari Guneshachaitanya conducted a bhajan session.
Subsequently, two esteemed speakers from Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Kozhikode - Swami Indunathanandaji Maharaj and Swami Avataranandaji Maharaj - delivered talks in Malayalam and English, respectively. They emphasized the importance of spiritual retreats for spiritual seekers, drawing from the teachings of the Holy Trinity.
The programme concluded with a closing song, followed by the distribution of tea and snacks prasad to all attendees.

Celebrated Onam festival at Koyilandy Math

The Onam festival holds great significance for all Hindus of Kerala. It is believed that King Mahabali was granted a boon by Bhagavan Vamana, the fifth avatar of Vishnu, to visit his kingdom once every year. This annual visit is commemorated through the celebration of Onam. The festival is observed over several days, and it brings immense joy and togetherness to the people of Kerala.
In connection with this, on 14th September 2024, Saturday, we celebrated Onam at our Math by distributing new clothes to the local people and the students of the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa. The celebration commenced with prayers, songs, traditional Kerala dance performances, and speeches. Swami Bhavapriyananda of Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Kozhikode, delivered an inspiring address. The event concluded with the serving of prasad to many devotees and students from the fishermen community.

Distribution of Blankets and Jackets to the beneficiaries at Wayanad district Kerala

As we all know, Onam is one of the greatest festivals in Kerala, observed with great enthusiasm and solemnity in every nook and corner, spanning two to three days. In this holy connection, on Friday, 13th September 2024, we had the privilege of serving some of the most underprivileged people residing in Wayanad district, Kerala.
Because of the rainy season and approaching winter, we distributed blankets to 100 tribal men and women, as well as warm jackets to 100 students from the Vivekananda Tribal School. At the same time, we also distributed books of Holy Mother Sarada Devi to the students. Before the distribution, the school students organized a small Onam celebration, featuring traditional dances, songs, yoga asana demonstrations, and speeches. The joy on the faces of the beneficiaries after receiving the blankets and jackets touched our hearts.

Celebrated Sri Krishna Jayanti at Koyilandy Math

The Krishna Janmashtami celebration was held on Monday, 26th August 2024, at our Ashrama in a simple and devout manner. We commenced the celebration by reciting all the chapters of the Bhagavad Gita in the morning session. The puja of Sri Krishna was then conducted after the evening Arati, followed by bhajans and pushpanjali. The celebration concluded with the distribution of prasad to all the attendees.

Conducted a Devotees convention at Koyilandy Math

We organized a spiritual convention with the devotees at our Ashrama on Sunday, 18th August 2024. The programme began with Vedic prayers and an opening song followed by guided meditations, readings from the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, messages from the Holy Mother and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. The devotees were deeply inspired by an enlightening speech given by Mr. Kunhiraman. The event also included bhajans.
To mark the occasion, we had the privilege of felicitating 12 active volunteers who have rendered exceptional service to the victims of the recent landslide disaster in Wayanad district, Kerala. Upon hearing of the tragedy, these volunteers immediately rushed to the site, assisting in rescue operations and ensuring the dignified cremation of the dead bodies.

Celebrated 78th Independence day at Koyilandy Math

It was our great joy and privilege to celebrate the 78th Independence Day on Thursday, 15th August 2024, at our Ashrama premises, along with the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa students, local devotees, and volunteers. The celebration commenced with the flag hoisting by the Adhyaksha Maharaj of Koyilandy Math, followed by a pledge, speeches, and performances of patriotic songs and dances.
Two teachers delivered enlightening speeches, addressing how we can overcome the various challenges and calamities affecting our society today. They also emphasized the importance of cultivating values to ensure a peaceful society. To commemorate this significant day, we distributed notebooks and pens to the students. We concluded the celebration by distributing Prasad to all attendees.

Organized a Medical Camp at Koyilandy Math

In collaboration with Sahani Hospital, Koyilandy, we organized a medical camp for the public and the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa students on Sunday, 28th July 2024. We provided ECG, blood sugar, and blood pressure check-ups, among other services. The doctors treated a total of 81 patients.

Guru Purnima Celebrated on Sunday 21st July 2024 at Koyilandy Math

With great enthusiasm and solemnity, we observed Guru Purnima along with many devotees at the shrine of Koyilandy Math on Sunday, 21st July 2024. The programme began with Vedic prayers, followed by guided meditations, readings from "Sri Ramakrishna, The Great Master," and bhajans. The main feature of the ceremony was Swami Bhavapriyananda and Swami Avatarananda, both from Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Kozhikode, who rendered valuable speeches to the devotees. The celebration concluded with a closing song and the distribution of prasad to the many devotees who attended the programme.

Devotees convention held at Koyilandy Math

he Devotees' Convention was held at our Ashrama on Sunday, 23rd June 2024. The programme commenced with Vedic prayers, followed by meditation and bhajans. Swami Narasimhananda, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Kozhikode, was the main speaker and motivated the devotees with his enlightening speech. The convention concluded with a closing song, and Prasad was distributed to all attendees.

Distributed Study materials from Koyilandy Math

We have completed the distribution of the study materials to 600 students from 10 different schools in two districts, including the 100 students of the 1st Phase at Wayanad Dist. and the final phase at Kozhikode Dist. We started the distribution on the 14th of June 2024 and ended on the 18th of June 2024.
The list of schools and the number of students who received the study kits are provided in the table below.

Study materials distributed to the students from Koyilandy Math

I am pleased to inform you that the first phase of distributing study material kits for this academic year (June 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025) has been completed at a Government High School in Wayanad district, Kerala on Friday 14th June 2024. The Kits were distributed to 100 underprivileged students from the tribal community in the foothills area. Each kit contains a school bag, a geometry box, two ball pens, nine notebooks, a book of Swami Vivekananda and an umbrella. Given the heavy rainfall during the rainy season in Kerala, an umbrella is essential for the students.

Celebrated Phalaharini Kali puja at Koyilandy Math

As Phalaharini Kali Puja fell on Wednesday, 5th June 2024, we celebrated the Ma Kali Puja with simplicity, keeping a photo in the shrine. The puja began after the Sandhya Arati, followed by bhajans and Pushpanjali to the Mother. At the end of the puja, we distributed prasad to around 35 devotees.

Celebrated Phalaharini Kali puja at Koyilandy Math

As Phalaharini Kali Puja fell on Wednesday, 5th June 2024, we celebrated the Ma Kali Puja with simplicity, keeping a photo in the shrine. The puja began after the Sandhya Arati, followed by bhajans and Pushpanjali to the Mother. At the end of the puja, we distributed prasad to around 35 devotees.

Most Revered Srimat Swami Suhitanandaji Maharaj visited Koyilandy Math

We are very much privileged and blessed that His Holiness Srimat Swami Suhitanandaji Maharaj visited our Math. Revered Maharaj came here on Friday, 24th May 2024. The next day, we held a devotees' convention where Revered Maharaj was the chief guest and speaker, blessing the devotees. In addition to Revered Maharaj, several spiritual personalities from different "Sampradayas" attended as guest speakers. They shared their individual insights for the devotees' spiritual upliftment based on Sri Ramakrishna, Ma Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda, and the Ramakrishna movement in Kerala. The attendees included Swami Chidanandapuriji Maharaj of Advaita Ashrama, Kolathur; Swami  Sivakumaranandaji Maharaj of Ramananda Ashrama, Chengottukavu; Swami Swaprabhanandaji Maharaj of Thiruvananthapuram; and Swami Nandatmajanandaji Maharaj of Ramakrishna Math, Thrissur, along with Revered Maharaj.
During the convention, Revered Maharaj handed over a cheque for a scholarship to a poor student studying MBBS in a medical college in Malappuram district, Kerala. At the end of the convention, we served a sumptuous lunch prasad to around 250 devotees. On 26th May, Revered Maharaj blessed 61 new spiritual seekers with Mantra Diksha. The following day, Revered Maharaj moved to Kozhikode Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram.

Distributed Sarees and Dhotis at Koyilandy Math

We are glad to inform you that Most Revered Srimat Swami Suhitanandaji Maharaj came for a devotees' convention and bestowed blessings upon the devotees through Mantra Diksha. On Saturday, 25th May 2024, Revered Maharaj distributed sarees and Dhotis to 65 families. Each family received one saree and one Dhoti.

An earnest appeal for giving study material to poor students

As the academic sessions commence in June in all Government Schools of Kerala, we undertake the annual distribution of notebooks, pens, umbrellas, school bags, and geometry boxes to the underprivileged, many of whom are from the fishermen community. Several Headmasters from different schools have already approached us regarding this initiative.
The total cost of the aforementioned items amounts to 5,35,150/-(five lakh thirty five thousand one hundred and fifty rupees only) and the no. of beneficiaries is estimated to be 550 and above.
The Kerala Government provides books, uniforms, and mid-day meals, leaving these essential items beyond the means of many parents.

Celebrated 128th foundation day of Ramakrishna Mission at Koyilandy Math

We are delighted to inform you that the 128th foundation day of Ramakrishna Mission was celebrated with various events at our premises on May 1st, Wednesday, 2024.The morning session commenced with the flag hoisting by Swami Bhavapriyanandaji Maharaj from Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Kozhikode, followed by the distribution of 'khaki uniforms' to 51 auto drivers, amidst a gathering of monks, brahmacharis, and a few local devotees.
In the evening, a public meeting was conducted in honor of the foundation day of the Ramakrishna Mission, which concluded with a cultural programme by the students of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa.
The public meeting began with a Vedic prayer, followed by bhajans and speeches. Two eminent speakers, Swami Bhavapriyanandaji from  Kozhikode, and Mr. Kunhiraman, a devotee, spoke about the history of Ramakrishna Mission and its contributions over the past 127 years. Simultaneously, the cultural programme by the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa students included dances, group songs, and a drama depicting the life and message of Sri Ramakrishna & Swami Vivekananda. At the end of the programme, prizes were distributed to students for their academic achievements and exemplary behavior during the 2023-24 academic year.

Celebrated Vishu, New Year of Kerala at Koyilandy Math

We celebrated Vishu, the festival of Kerala as the New Year on Sunday, 14th April 2024.
The Vishu is marked by various customs and rituals. One of the main customs is the preparation of Vishu Kani, which is an arrangement of auspicious items such as rice, fruits, vegetables, flowers, coins, gold, and a sacred text. The idea is to start the year auspiciously by seeing these items first thing in the morning.
In this holy connection, we arranged a programme with the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa students and some local devotees at our premises. The programme commenced with prayer, Bhagavad Gita recitation, and Bhajan. One of the GAP teachers gave a speech about the significance of Vishu and its message. At the end of the celebrations, students and devotees burst crackers, which is part of the Vishu celebration. We concluded the programme by distributing Prasad to the attendees.

Observed the shradhanjali for His Holiness Srimat Swami Smarananandaji Maharaj

With solemnity and devotion, we observed the special puja, Homa, and memorial shradhanjali for our beloved Sangha Guru, His Holiness Srimat Swami Smarananandaji Maharaj.
The puja rituals began with Mangalarati, meditation, Vedic prayer, followed by a special puja along with bhajans and Homa. After the homa, the memorial shradhanjali was performed, simultaneously with bhaga offerings to Sri Ramakrishna.
At the end of the programme, we distributed sumptuous Prasad to a number of devotees and others.
As Revered Maharaj was very fond of preserving trees everywhere, in His name, we have planted saplings of fruit trees amidst many devotees on the same day.
In the evening, we also carried out relief work for poor families residing in coastal areas of the Arabian Sea. These fishermen are unable to catch fish during the summer season, making it very difficult to sustain their families. In this drastic predicament, we distributed 7 kg of rice and 2 kg of moong dal each to 52 families on the same day, Sunday, 7th April 2024.

Celebrated Sri Ramakrishna Birthday Jayanti at Koyilandy Math

The birthday of Sri Ramakrishna fell on Tuesday, the 12th of March 2024. We celebrated His Holy birthday with pomp and solemnity. The programme commenced with Mangalarati, followed by meditation, prayer, and special bhajans. The special puja began in the morning, followed by Homa and puspanjali. Thereafter, an insightful lecture on Sri Ramakrishna was delivered by a devotee named Sri Kunjiraman to more than 150 devotees assembled in the Temple. After the Bhaga arati, several people were sumptuously fed.
As Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna himself initiated the "Daridra Narayana seva," to honor His divine glories, we performed the puja of Daridra Narayana seva by distributing Sarees and Lungis to each of the 85 families on this very auspicious day.

Celebrated Maha Shivaratri at Koyilandy Math

The Maha Shivaratri puja celebration was performed in a simple manner at our Math on 8th March 2024, Friday. The puja began after the evening Sri Ramakrishna Arati followed by special bhajans and Abhishekam of Lord Shiva with puspanjali by devotees.
At the conclusion of the celebrations, we distributed Prasad to around 30 devotees.

The Archway inauguration ceremony done at Koyilandy Math

With overwhelming joy and happiness, we want to share that on the very auspicious occasion of Srimat Swami Adbhutanandaji's janmatithi, we inaugurated the Archway at the entrance of Koyilandy Math on Saturday 24th February 2024. The inauguration of the Archway ceremony was conducted by Srimat Swami Swaprabhanandaji Maharaj on behalf of the Most Revered Vice President, Srimath Swami Suhitanandaji Maharaj, as the Revered Maharaj was absent. However, Revered Vice President Maharaj sent His blessings covered by a letter, which was read out in the assembly of devotees.
The plaque of the Archway opening ceremony commenced at 9:30 am, followed by a public meeting where distinguished guest speakers were present. The public meeting began with a Vedic prayer by the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa students, followed by speeches and bhajans. The meeting concluded with a benedictory speech by Srimat Swami Swaprabhanandaji Maharaj, Ramakrishna Mission, Thiruvananthapuram.
We concluded the programme with a closing song and distributed lunch Prasad to over 200 devotees and others. In the evening, to mark the occasion, we distributed 35 sarees and 25 dhotis to 35 poor families.

Celebrated Swami Vivekananda's birthday (Tithi puja) at Koyilandy Math

As usual, we celebrated the 162nd birthday Tithi puja of Swami Vivekananda on Friday, the 2nd of February 2024. The celebrations commenced early in the morning with Mangalarati at 5 am, followed by meditation, prayers with chanting of Katha Upanishad, Special puja, Homa, Puspanjali, and Bhogarati. Sri Ramachandran KV, our guest speaker, spoke about Swamiji's life and message. At the end, we served sumptuous Prasad to around 300 devotees, including students and other attendees.

75th Republic Day Celebrated at Koyilandy Math

The 75th Republic Day has been celebrated at our Ashrama premises on Friday, 26th January 2024. The programme commenced with flag hoisting by Swami Shyamalananda, Sri Ramakrishna Mission, Nabadwip along with the singing of the National Anthem. This was followed by songs, dances, and speeches. The speeches were delivered by 4 students, and teachers of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa.

We celebrated the consecration ceremony of the Sri Ram Mandir, which took place in Ayodhya

In connection with the Sri Rama Mandir consecration ceremony at Ayodhya, we conducted a simple puja of Sri Rama, followed by bhajans and speeches. Three speakers – Mr. Madhavan Bodhi, Mr. Sarath Pallott and the Adhyaksha of the Koyilandy Math – enlightened  on the significance of Sri Rama Mandir and the teachings of Lord Sri Rama. The event concluded with the distribution of lunch prasad to numerous attendees. In the evening, a Special Ramnam sankirtanam was performed after the prayer, and we illuminated the Temple in celebration.

National Youth Day celebrated at Koyilandy Math

We celebrated Youth Day on Friday, the 12th of January 2024, with our Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa students, along with a few devotees and volunteers. The programme began with a rally through the village, followed by songs. Upon returning to the Math premises, we conducted a programme, featuring an opening song and speeches by students and teachers. The President of this Ashrama, Swami Sundarananda, delivered a motivational message from Swamiji to inspire the students.
The proceedings concluded with the distribution of Prasad to approximately 60 people, including students.

Conducted a Health Awareness Camp at Koyilandy Math

Upon the request of the local inhabitants and the fisherman community, along with our "Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa students," we organized a medical treatment camp in collaboration with SAHANI Hospital, Koyilandy, on Sunday, the 7th of January 2024. Doctors from the hospital addressed and treated various health issues, including EGG, cardiology, and general check-ups. In total, 90 individuals, including GAP students, received medical attention.

Celebrated 171st birthday (Tithi Puja) of Holy Mother Sarada Devi

The journey into the new year of 2024 commenced on January 1st with Sri Ramakrishna Kalpataru, where He bestowed unconditional blessings upon His devotees, affirming, "Your soul is illumined." On January 3rd, Wednesday, we were further blessed by the celebration of Holy Mother Sarada Devi's 171st birthday. Undoubtedly, the years ahead promise to be filled with insightful events. Our commemoration of Sri Holy Mother Sarada Devi began at 5 am with Mangalarati, followed by meditation, prayer, a special puja, and homa. Mr. Suvra Banerjee from Bangalore, speaking in English, and Mr. Srikumar, a devoted speaker in Malayalam, both illuminated the glories of Holy Mother Sarada Devi for the attendees. Following the Bhogarati, we served a sumptuous lunch to around 160 people, including students. 

Sri Ramakrishna Kalpataru Celebrated at Koyilandy Math

Bhagwan Sri Ramakrishna bestowed His blessings on this day, 1st January 1886, to His devoted followers—a divine blessing that transcends time and extends to all sincere devotees who dedicate their minds to Him.In commemoration of His glory, we celebrated Sri Ramakrishna Kalpataru Divas on Monday, 1st January 2024, at our Ashrama premises. 
The programme commenced at 3:30 pm with prayers and meditation, followed by Bhajan, reading from "Sri Ramakrishna Great Master," and speeches. Insightful speeches were delivered by Swami Bhavapriyananda, a monk from Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Kozhikode, and Manoj Kumar Master, the principal of Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram Higher Secondary School, Kozhikode.As a culmination of the event, we distributed tea and snacks to 120 people, including devotees, students of Gadadhar Abhudaya Prakalpa, along with their parents.

An Archway Work in Progress

Following up on the email dated 9th November 2023 regarding the Archway construction, I am providing an update on the work in progress. The inauguration is scheduled for the birthday of Srimath Swami Adbhutanandaji Maharaj on 24th February 2024, Saturday,  by Most Revered Srimath Swami Suhitanandaji Maharaj, Vice President of Ramakrishna Math and Mission. Youth Convention and Devotee Conference at Koyilandy Math

To rejuvenate the quality of the youth, we organized a unique youth convention on Sunday, November 26, 2023. The programme commenced with guided meditation and Vedic prayers, followed by two luminaries: Dr. T.G.K. Murthy, a retired scientist from ISRO, who spoke about science to encourage students to explore their hidden qualities with spiritual thoughts. He also explained the recent historical achievement of ISRO in the successful launch of Chandrayaan-3 through a PowerPoint video.
Swami Brahmaparananda from Ramakrishna Math Advaita Ashrama, Kalady, shared his spiritual thoughts along with the message of Swami Vivekananda.
Finally, to make the youth aware of the significant impact made by Ramakrishna Math and Mission, we presented a video, "Blooming Lotus of Humanity," in Malayalam language to the youth.
Approximately 35 college students from different areas of Koyilandy attended the convention. They were provided with sumptuous food before leaving the Ashrama premises. Also in the evening, a Devotee conference was held in which 50 people participated.

Celebrated Children day

As you are aware, on Tuesday, the 14th of November 2023, we celebrated Sri Jawaharlal Nehru's birthday, which the Government of India has declared as Children's Day. On this occasion, we organized an event with the Gadadhar Abbhudaya Prakalpa students, teachers, and guest speakers to instill in the students a sense of their values and the importance of a bright future.
The programme commenced with a Vedic prayer by Br. Vrajeshachaitanya and Br. Murarichaitanya, followed by music, dance, and speeches by students, teachers, and guests.
During the event, students shared their knowledge and creative ideas, showcasing their talents in music and speeches. Simultaneously, teachers imparted valuable insights to help students understand the significance of their lives. Guest speakers narrated inspiring stories to bring out the hidden qualities within them.
To conclude the celebration, sumptuous food was provided to 65 attendees, including students, parents, and others.

Celebrated Kali Puja (Diwali) at Koyilandy Math

We celebrated Kali puja (Diwali) on Sunday, 12th November 2023 by placing a picture of Maa Kali in our shrine. After the evening Arati of Sri Ramakrishna Bhajans, Pushpanjali, and Arati were duly performed.  At the end of the puja, around 70 devotees took prasad.

Archway Appeal For Koyilandy Math

Celebrated Maha Ashtami by Distributing

Today, as we have celebrated Maha Ashtami, a significant day of Durga Puja on the 22nd of October, 2023, I extend my warm regards and best wishes to you and your family.
This morning, we observed the Maha Ashtami puja in the presence of Ma Durga's picture. To mark this auspicious festival, we provided a sumptuous meal to 68 people from our Ashrama and its surroundings. All of them expressed great joy in participating in our ritual.

Distribution of Sarees and lungees on the occasion of Durga Puja

To commemorate the auspicious occasion of Navaratri and to bring smiles to the faces of the underprivileged, especially those living in the foothill areas, we distributed sarees and lungis to 60 families in three villages within the Kozhikode district on the morning of Sunday, 15th October 2023. Each family received one saree and one lungi. The joy on their faces upon receiving these garments is truly heartwarming. Witnessing their happiness, we are inspired to provide them with more facilities in the near future.

Celebrated Matrupuja at Koyilandy Math

We organized a special event named "Matrupuja," held on Sunday, October 8th, 2023, at our premises, aimed at instilling and promoting values and a dignified culture among GAP students. We are acutely aware of the prevailing lack of respect, adoration, and humility in the current generation, particularly among the youth. In response to this concern, we conducted this event, which received a remarkable response from the local community, especially the fishermen. I firmly believe that their participation will contribute to the enhancement of values and a dignified culture in our society.
The event commenced with traditional Vedic chanting from the "Taittiriya Upanishad," followed by a welcome address. Miss Radha Devi . B Jeevanvriti karyakartha  Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, delivered an eloquent message to both parents and children. Subsequently, the Matrupuja was performed by the respective children. After the puja, an interactive session took place between the children and their parents, allowing them to discuss their feelings and experiences.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and a sumptuous lunch Prasad served to all 120 attendees.

Celebrated Gandhiji Jayanthi at Koyilandy Math

We celebrated the life and profound teachings of Gandhiji on Monday, October 2, 2023, with the GAP students at the Ashrama premises. The programme commenced with a prayer, followed by songs and enlightening speeches. Two dedicated GAP teachers and one esteemed guest speaker from outside shared his insight with the children, emphasizing Gandhiji's unique contributions to India's development and the preservation of our cherished values and culture. Several students also expressed their thoughts on Gandhiji's enduring messages.
To conclude the event, we distributed fruit and sweet prasada to the 58 students and other attendees.

Distributed School Uniforms to The Poor Students

We are thrilled to inform you that we have provided school uniforms to 58 underprivileged students. They all reside along the picturesque coast of the Arabian Sea. It's noteworthy that their parents make a living as fishermen.
These students are currently enrolled in stds 4 to 7, attending various schools in the village of Koyilandy, located in the Kozhikode district. To give you a glimpse of this heartwarming endeavor.

Sri Krishna Janmashtami Celebrated at Koyilandy Math

We celebrated Sri Krishna Janmashtami in our Ashrama on Wednesday, the 6th of September, 2023.  We had the Bhagavad Gita chanting of all chapters in the morning.  Sri Krishna Puja was performed followed by sandhya arathi at 7 pm after which we had Bhajans and  Pushpanjali. In the end, the prasad was distributed to about 25 devotees.

Celebrated Onam Festival at Koyilandy Math

We celebrated Onam, the core festival of the Keralites on Sunday the 27th of August, 2023 in the morning.  This is chiefly to commemorate King Mahabali, whose spirit is believed to grace the auspicious occasion on this particular day.
The programme began with prayers followed by bhajans, etc. at the Ashrama shrine. The participants included students of  Gadadhar Abhyudaya, teachers, and devotees. To mark the festivity of the celebration, students and other people performed their dance,  and musical programme and delivered speeches at the Auditorium.  On this very auspicious day, we distributed Sarees and Dhotis to 19 poor ladies and 14 gents. After concluding the ceremony, lunch prasad was distributed among the students, teachers,  devotees, and volunteers who counted around 100 people.

Celebrated 77th Independence Day at Koyilandy Math

With due respect to "Har Ghar Tiranga” and “Meri Maati Mera Desh,” we celebrated the 77th Independence Day, on Tuesday, 15th August, 2023 at our Math. The historical event was conducted by the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Students and some local people. The celebrations began with Flag hoisting followed by the National Anthem and various events that included speeches, songs, and dance.  To mark this occasion, we conducted different types of competition among the students of GAP followed by prize distribution for the winners.  We concluded the celebrations with a closing song and distributed prasad among 80 people.

Distress relief done for Blanket Distribution

Kerala experiences torrential rains every year during the rainy season. The poor inhabitants residing in thatched houses near the foothills face difficult times in severe cold during this season.  We have located  300 families from different villages belonging to the districts of Kannur and Kozhikode and distributed blankets among them for four days.

Organized a half day devotees  Conference at Koyilandy  Math

We organized a half-day devotees' conference at our premises on Sunday, 23rd July 2023. The conference proceeded with meditation and prayer followed by Bhajans, Gita chanting, readings from the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother's conversation, and Swami Vivekananda Message. In the end, Mr. V.Dhanamjay, Thalassery, a Malayalam speaker, gave his enlightening speech to the devotees. The programme concluded with the distribution of snacks prasad to around 70 people. 

Study  Materials Distributed to the Poor Students

I sincerely convey my regards and namaskars to you. I hope you are doing well by the grace of the Holy Trio. With reference to the appeal, dated 21st June 2023, seeking funds for giving study materials. We would like to inform you that we have distributed the same among 397 poor students of 9 Government schools on the 2nd, 5th, 6th, and 7th of June 2023. The detailed distribution list is mentioned below in the table for your kind perusal.

This noble initiative has been possible only through your kind cooperation and sincere help either financially or intellectually. In this regard, I remember Swami Vivekananda's words, " They alone live who live for others, rest are dead than alive".   You have rendered your service in whatever possible ways,  with sincere feelings and devotion. This selfless service towards the poor students is an offering made at the feet of  God, which is my firm belief. Requesting you to keep in touch as always.

Guru PoornimaCelebrated at Koyilandy Math

Guru Poornima was celebrated on Monday, the 3rd July 2023 at our premises with solemnity. The programme commenced with Vedic prayer followed by meditation and bhajans. Swami Nandatmajanandaji Maharaj, editor, Prabhuddha Keralam, Thrissur was the special guest speaker who spoke on the importance of Guru Poornima. The programme  ended with prasad distribution to around 78 devotees.

Conducted a Youth Camp at Koyilandy Math

This is to inform you that we conducted a Youth Camp on Sunday, 18th June 2023.  A total of 59 youths from different areas of 4 villages in Koyilandy, Kozhikode district participated in the camp. The Camp started with the registration of the names of the participants followed by guided meditation and prayer in the Temple. Thereafter Swami Narasimhananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Kozhikode and Swami Brahmaparananda, Ramakrishna Math, Advaita Ashrama, Kalady spoke to the youth on values and their future career.  In between there were interactions and question-answer sessions with the youth. In the end, the participants were given books of the Holy Trio followed by lunch prasad.

Health Awareness Programme

We have organized a health awareness programme at our premises on the 14th & 16th of June 2023. Most of the people from the fishermen community along with the students of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa participated in the programme. Around 65 patients were treated by Dr. S. Sivaprakash from Sri Sathya Sai Medical College, Tamil Nadu.

Organized a Devotees Conference

We organised  a half day devotees meet at our premises on Sunday, 28th May, 2023. The conference proceeded with meditation and prayer followed by Bhajans, reading from the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother's conversation and Sivananda Vani. At the end Mr. Shasidharan, a Malayalam speaker gave his enlightening speech to the devotees. The programme concluded with distribution of snacks prasad to around 75 people.

Celebrated Phalaharini Kali Puja

We celebrated "Phalaharini Kali puja" at our Ashrama on Thursday the 18th of May 2023. The puja began after the evening arati followed by bhajans and pushpanjali. At the end of the puja, we distributed prasad to around 30 devotees.

Temple Reconsecration Ceremony

The Sri Ramakrishna Temple at our Koyilandy Ashrama was thoroughly renovated. The renovated new temple was reconsecrated by Most Revered Swami Tattwavidanandaji Maharaj, one of our Assistant General Secretaries on the sacred Buddha Poornima Day, Friday 5th May 2023. All the Pujas and Homa in connection with the consecration were also done by the revered Maharaj.
In connection with the ceremony, there were various cultural performances and a public meeting in the afternoon at the auditorium hall on that day. The public meeting was also chaired by the revered Maharaj. About 40 Sadhus attended the ceremony. About 600 devotees took Lunch Prasad on the day.

Eve of the ceremony of the temple and distributed sarees

On the eve of the Reconsecration of the Temple on Thursday, 4th May 2023, we have arranged for the reception of the chief guest Most Revered Swami Tattwavidanandaji,  the Assistant General Secretary Maharaj. To make the event memorable we distributed 50 Sarees to the mothers residing near the foothills, in the village of Koyilandy, Kozhikode district.

Celebrated 125th Anniversary of Ramakrishna Mission at Koyilandy Math

We are happy to inform you that the 125th foundation day of the Ramakrishna Mission was celebrated at our Math in the most befitting way on 1st May, Monday, 2023. The function started at 4 pm in the evening with Vedic prayer followed by speeches and classical music. Swami Vanishananda Acharya, Brahmachari Training Centre, Belur Math, and Swami Nandatmajananda, editor Prabuddha Keralam, Thrissur, delivered a valuable speech on "Spiritual contribution of Ramakrishna Mission for 125 years''.Mr. Sudheesh Raman performed classical music in this programme. At the end of the celebration, prasad packets were distributed among 160 devotees and students.

Poor feeding is done on Akshay Tritiya day

On the auspicious occasion of Akshay Tritiya, we arranged for Nara Narayana Seva by feeding 105 needy people in and around the locality on Sunday,  23rd April 2023. Food was served to these people after a short session of prayer and meditation.  Dakshina of Rs.100 was offered to each of these people after their meals were over. These people seemed to be happy after receiving sumptuous food and Dakshina.

Celebrated Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna Birthday Jayanthi

We have celebrated 188th Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna birthday Jayanti on Tuesday, the 21th February, 2023 in a befitting manner at our Ashrama premises. The celebration commenced with mangala arati, meditation, Vedic chanting with  stotra path and bhajan. It is followed by special puja, homa, speech and bhog arati. Two devotees delivered speeches in malayalam. At the same time to mark the festivity of the celebration, we distributed Sarees to the 15 poor Ladies residing near the Math premises. We concluded the celebrations by distributing prasad to around 210 devotees, students and others.

Organized a Annadanam Programme (Food distribution)

As requested by some people around the Ashrama, we have organized distribution of lunch prasad (food distribution) to some of the poor people and their kids around the Ashrama area along with our regular fisherman area's students on Sunday the 19th February, 2023. Around 75 people in total participated in the same. All of the participants were happy to have the delicious food.

74th Republic Day celebrated at Koyilandy Math

The 74th Republic day has been celebrated at our Ashrama premises on Thursday, 26th January 2023. The program commenced with flag hoisting by Swami Sundarananda, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math Koyilandy along with the singing of the National Anthem. This was followed by songs, dances, and speeches. The speeches were delivered by 3 students, and teachers of GAP.

We have arranged a distress relief service for the 110 poor hill tribal families of Northern Kerala. A Lungi and a saree were offered to each family on Sunday, 22nd January 2023.

Celebrated Swami Vivekananda 161st Birthday (Tithi Puja) at Koyilandy Math

The 161st Tithi Puja of Swami Vivekananda was celebrated in our Ashrama. On the Holy occasion, Special puja & Homa were performed & Anna Bhog was offered to the Holy Trio. Bhajans were sung throughout the puja. Cooked Prasad was distributed to about 150 devotees.Mr. Manoj Kumar Principal, of Ramakrishna Sevashram Higher secondary school, Kozhikode spoke on this Holy occasion to the devotees.

The National Youth Day celebration at Koyilandy Math

Phase – I: The National Youth Day was celebrated in our Math on Thursday, 12th January 2023 morning, in a simple manner. Students of the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa (GAP) & other students were invited. The programme started with a procession, singing Swamiji’s songs and slogans and followed by speeches from teachers & students. The students gave speeches on Swami Vivekananda’s life and teachings.  This was followed by Adhyaksha Swamiji’s benediction address. In the end, the National Anthem was sung and Prasad was distributed to more than 50 people.

Phase – II: We organized a half-day youth convention at our Math premises on Thursday,12th  January, evening.  Speeches rendered by Swami Namaratananda, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore, and Sri Satheesh O.S, a Motivational speaker from Thrissur, inculcated immense values to the youth. 170 youth from different schools participated.

Kalpataru Utsav Celebrated at Koyilandy Math

Sri Ramakrishna revealed himself as an Avatara of Vishnu and as a Kalpataru on 1st January 1886, so we must firmly believe that not only on the first day of the year but every day and at every moment, he is there with us as Kalpataru in our hearts. We must call on him earnestly. In this connection, Most Revered Gambhiranandaji Maharaj said:   "Sri Ramakrishna came... for those whose hearts are yearning for God. With this enlightening message, we celebrated the Kalpataru Utsav in the Math premises on 1st January 2023, Sunday in the evening in which 60 devotees took part. In this regard, the programme started with Vedic Chanting followed by reading from The Scripture & bhajans.

Swami Namratanandaji Maharaj, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore, gave a lecture on "Sri Ramakrishna Kalpataru”. Mr Sasidharan, Vadakara, Kozhikode was the Guest of Honour. Both enlightened the devotees with various insights on the holy occasion. The programme concluded with the closing song and Prasad was distributed to all.

Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi was celebrated in our Math

The 170th Tithi Puja of Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi was celebrated in our Math on Thursday, 15th December 2022. On this Holy occasion, a Special Puja, Homa was performed and Anna Bhog was offered, followed by Arati. The Bhajans were sung throughout the puja. Cooked Prasad was distributed to more than 140 devotees. A speech was delivered by the renowned writer of English and Malayalam Shrimathi Indira Krishnakumar, Ottapalam, a niece of Most Revered Srimat Swami Tapasyanandaji Maharaj.

Shifting of the Present Shrine - Renovation - Extension Ceremony - Gopura Nirmanam

We have shifted the temple to the temporary site at our Auditorium. We performed the Visesha Puja, Bhajansfollowed by Homa, and Bhoga Arati. A short speech was given by SwamiNandatmajanandaji Maharaj, Thrissur. Simultaneously, we conducted the Foundation Laying Ceremony for the Temple renovation, extension, and Gopura Nirmanam at the present site. The celebrations were attended by Sadhus of nearby centers and 160 devotees and all had their sumptuous Prasad. Please see the link below for the photos of the programme.

Organized Devotees convention at Koyilandy Math

Commemorating the 125th Anniversary of Ramakrishna Mission foundation day we organized a devotee convention on the 16th of October 2022 wherein  170 devotees participated. The programme commenced with Vedic prayers followed by invocatory songs and reading from Vachanamrita (Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna).  Swami Namratananda from Ramakrishna Mission, Coimbatore, and Swami Sarvabhadrananda from Ramakrishna Math, Chennai addressed the audience cheerfully.
A pleasant song marked the conclusion of the event, following which we distributed prasad to the devotees.

Distress relief for distributing the Sarees

We are glad to notify that on the Holy occasion of the Navaratri festival we distributed  69 Sarees to poor Tribal women on the Panchami and Shasti days (30th Sep and 1st Oct 2022). They hail from foothill villages of Kannur district, Kerala about 90 km away from Koyilandy Math.

Seminar-"The Role of a Teacher" Conducted at Koyilandy Math

To mark the 125th Anniversary of Ramakrishna Mission foundation day we organized a Teachers’ Convention on Sunday, the 18th of September, 2022 at our premises. The subject of the seminar was "Role of Teachers". In this programme there were three resource persons who guided and spoke to the teachers viz Swami Devarajanandaji Maharaj, Swami Vishwanathanandaji Maharaj from Ramakrishna Math, Belur Math, and Swami Narashimhanandaji Maharaj from Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Kozhikode. The programme commenced with prayer and an opening song followed by speeches and a question-answer session. All of them highlighted the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and their own experiences in various fields of education. We have given books on Holy Mother Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda to 35 teachers from 11 schools and 1 college. We concluded the seminar with a vote of thanks and a closing song. In the end, around 65 people took lunch Prasad and left the premises.

Onam Celebrated on 20th Aug 2021

Celebration of Krishna Janmashtami

We celebrated Sri Krishna Janmashtami in our Ashrama on Thursday, the 18th August, 2022.  We had Bhagavat Gita chanting of all chapters in the morning.  Sri Krishna Puja was performed followed by  sandhya arathi  at 7pm after which we had Bhajans and  Pushpanjali. At the end prasad was distributed to about 21 devotees.

Youth Convention & Independence Day Celebration (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav) at Koyilandy

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence and  Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav we arranged for a day-long programme with great solemnity on Monday, the 15th of August, 2022. The celebrations were in 4 parts, held at the Ashrama premises. 
The 1st part included an Independence day rally followed by a National Flag hoisting ceremony with the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa (GAP) students early in the morning.
In the 2nd part, a Youth Convention was organised in which students from 3 different English medium schools participated. The resource persons in the youth convention were Swami Nandatmajananda Maharaj Thrissur, Dr T G K Murthy a retired Distinguished scientist of ISRO Bangalore and Mr Balaji, from the USA. Rev Nandatmajanandaji Maharaj highlighted the need for one’s own inner capability development and apply to achieve success in life. Dr T G K Murty showed, through ppt, the contribution of scientific stalwarts in different domains ranging from agriculture to space, including Covaxine. Their significant contribution is traced to Swamiji's ideas of nation-building. Shri Balaji suggested to students to make the best use of digital technology for their own growth in a positive direction. 
The 3rd part included a musical concert performed by the professional musician Mr Sudheesh Raman, Thrissur, held in the evening. 
The 4th in the concluding part was a cultural programme in which our GAP Students participated.
The programme of the youth convention has been covered by some local news channels and papers.

Ramayana Masa celebration at Koyilandy Math

The last month of the Malayalam  Era – 'Karkidakam' - is celebrated as 'Ramayana Masa' in Kerala. In every house, every temple Ramayana  (Adhyatma Ramayanam by Ezhuthacchan) is read and sung , as we celebrate in every village and house the Durga Puja in Bangal. Our Math this year made a programme in connection with this. The main theme of the programme is to bring children especially the school – college going ones to bring in line with this centuries old tradition of Kerala.
In this holy connection, we conducted the Ramayana celebration on Saturday, the 6th August, 2022 at our premises. The programme commenced with traditional prayer and opening song. It was  followed by reading Ramayana by 2  devotees and  2 eminent speakers Mr. Kartikeyan and Mr. Karunan Master spoke  about the significance of Ramayana and how to practice in our day to day life.  In between, a singer Mr. Shinilraj, Kozhikode sung the songs on Rama.
We concluded the programme by distributing the Prasad to about 75 devotees and Children.

Health Awareness Programme Conducted

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (75th year independence day celebration) we conducted a Health awareness programme at our premises on Saturday (30.07.2022). Three Doctors from the local health department graced the occasion and addressed the students of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa and local children. They emphasised the need for personal hygiene which is the core aspect of health care.
We concluded the program by distributing selective vitamin tablets to 90 students along with Prasad packets.

Celebrated Guru Purnima at Koyilandy Math

We observed Guru Purnima on Wednesday, the 13th of July 2022 at our Ashrama premises. We began with Vedic Chanting, prayers followed by  Bhagavad Gita recital and Bhajans. 3 of our Devotees read from the Ramakrishna vachanamrita (Gospel of Sree Ramakrishna), Conversation of Holy Mother Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda. A senior devotee delivered a speech elaborating on the purpose and greatness of Guru and the importance of Gurupurnima celebrations. The programme ended with a song and distribution of Prasad to around 85 devotees.

Celebration of the fifth part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav"

In observance of the fifth part of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, we have organized a Youth Convention on Saturday, the 2nd July 2022, for the students of 10th, 12th, and Degree students, at our Auditorium. They hailed from 3 different villages in and around our Ashrama. The programme commenced at 9.30 am with Vedic prayer and a welcome address by the Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Koyilandy. It was followed by speeches and a question-answer session. The speakers were Swami Dharmapurnananda Maharaj, Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Kozhikode, and Mr. Bijilesh KB, who is an expert in teaching higher students for different competitive exams. At the end of the celebration, all 90 participants distributed books of Swami Vivekananda and their study material like notebooks and pens. The function ended by offering snacks and cool drinks.

Study material distribution to poor students

No sooner had the academic session of schools commenced in Kerala, than we distributed 210 kits containing notebooks, school bags, geometry boxes, and pens to poor students from 4 schools on 24th and 30th June 2022 at our premises. All of them reside near the coastal area of the Arabian sea. The distribution programme started at 10 am with prayers and a motivational speech to the students by Swami Dharmapurnananda, Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Kozhikode and two teachers viz Mr. Bijilesh and Mr. Padmanabhan. 

Sri Sri Shodashi Puja Celebrated at Koyilandy Math

"Sri Sri Shodashi Puja" was solemnly observed in our Ashrama on Sunday, 29th May 2022. The puja started after the sandhya arati. It was followed by Bhajans, Bhogharathi, and Pushpanjali.  At the end of the puja, prasad was distributed to 36 devotees.

Part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations with Parents and Students of GAP

As part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations we organized an orientation programme for GAP students and their parents on 22nd May, 2022 at our Ashrama Auditorium. The programme commenced with prayer followed by lectures. Teachers Mr. Bijilesh, Megha Das, Jinsi K T and Sudheesh addressed the audience and encouraged them. One of the students too shared her thoughts as to how she was inspired by Swami Vivekananda's sermons and highlighted that the Ashrama atmosphere stimulated her to a great extent. Nearly 110 people participated and lunch Prasad was distributed to all.

Celebrated Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Youth day 2nd May 2022

As part of Youth day and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, we conducted a novel programme on Monday the 2nd of May with the Students of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa and youth from close quarters. The function commenced at 4.15 pm with prayers by Br, Vrajeshachaitanya, and lectures followed on Swami Vivekananda and his contributions to India. Speakers were Swami Narasimhanandaji Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission sevashram, Kozhikode, Mr. Bijilesh is a trainer of competitive examination students and  8 students with 1 Teacher from GAP. They shared valuable insights about Swamiji and its current-day relevance.  Thereafter prizes were distributed for drawing, elocution, and essay writing competitions to the students. Adding glory to the event, students performed cultural activities. At the end of the celebration, we distributed prasad to around 200 people.

Celebrated foundation day of Ramakrishna Mission on 1st May, 2022

The foundation day of Ramakrishna Mission has been celebrated with joy and éclat on Sunday, May 1st, 2022. The programme commenced at 4 pm with prayer, an opening song and the lighting of the lamp. It was followed by the reading of the historical proceedings of the general meeting of the Ramakrishna Mission Association held on 1st and 5th May 1897, in the Malayalam language by Bijilesh, a volunteer of our Ashrama.  There were 2  monk speakers and 2 others who participated in the programme, Swami Tatpurushanandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha,   Ramakrishna Math, Kayamkulam, Swami Nandatmajanandaji Maharaj, editor of Prabuddha Keralam, the monthly magazine, Thrissur. Miss Megha Das a teacher of GAP, and Mr Raman a devotee of Chennai Ramakrishna Math. All of Them spoke regarding the significance and contribution of the Ramakrishna Mission to the masses. 
The occasion was glorified by a Bhajan session performed by Smt. Vijayasree Raman, a devotee of Ramakrishna Mission, Chennai.  The Temple and the adjacent areas have been brightly illuminated and colourfully decorated.
At the end of the function, we distributed food packets to around 100 devotees. 

Vishu :- The New year festival of Kerala

The Vishu festival has been celebrated at our Math on  Friday,15th April 2022. We started the day by worshipping Lord Krishna, followed by a lecture on the importance of Vishu, delivered to the GAP students. Some devotional songs were sung by the students. In the evening students along with many other people lit fireworks and crackers. At the end of the programme, we distributed a prasad to the students and devotees.
Vishu is celebrated with the customary worship of Lord Vishnu as Krishna.
It is the first day of the Malayalam calendar and is called the New year in Kerala.
This day is celebrated with much ceremonial splendor by people and their family members, and relatives by burning firecrackers.

Celebrated anniversary of Holy Trio

The annual program on Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda was celebrated by illuminating the Temple in our Ashrama on Saturday the 26th March 2022. On this occasion, we invited 3 guest speakers- Swami Bhuvanathmananda, Adhyaksha of Sri Ramakrishna Math Vyttila, Kochi, Swami Narasimhananda, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission sevashrama, Kozhikode, and Mr. Sasidhan, a retired headmaster, higher Secondary school, Vatakara. There was a musical program by Sapthaswara music group, Vatakara before concluding the program. At the end of the celebration, we distributed Prasad to around 80 people.

Distributed umbrellas to Traffic Police

In Kerala, notwithstanding the swaying seasons (scorch of the summer and floods during winter) traffic policemen stand under the open sky to regulate day-to-day road traffic. Considering their pathetic plight, we distributed 10 umbrellas each to 3 Police stations i.e Koyilandy, Balussery, and Atholi in Kozhikode district on Wednesday, the 23rd March 2022.
                                                    All the police staff were delighted and applauded our gesture.

Celebrated Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna Birthday Jayanthi

We have celebrated 187th Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna birthday Jayanti on Friday, the 4th March, 2022 in a befitting manner at our Ashrama premises. The celebration commenced with mangala arati, meditation, Vedic chanting with  stotra path and special bhajan group from Vadakara. It is followed by special puja, homa, speech and bhog arati. Three devotees delivered speeches in malayalam. We concluded the celebrations by distributing prasad to around 300 devotees, students and others.

Maha Shivaratri Puja observed on Tuesday, 1st March 2022 at Koyilandy Math

Maha Shivaratri was solemnly observed in our Ashrama on Tuesday 1st March 2022. The dashopchar puja started after sandhya arati with the offering of sweets & fruits. The abhisheka of Shiva lingam was done with 4-items by the devotees also. In the end, prasad was distributed to devotees who attended the puja.

Newly constructed house for poor family

We are glad to inform you that we have taken an initiative to help a poor family by building a house for them.  The house was inaugurated on the auspicious occasion of Maha Sivaratri on 1st March, 2022. The house consisted of a bedroom with an attached bathroom, a big hall and a kitchen. It is located on the hill top area of Arikkulam village in Kozhikode district, Kerala, which is around 7 km from Ashrama, Koyilandy. 

Mr. Jithin Rajan, chief manager of SBI Koyilandy was the chief guest for the inaugural ceremony of the house. We concluded the program by felicitating shirts to the 25 labourers who had been kind enough to do the entire work of constructing the house free of cost.

Republic Day Celebrated at Koyilandy Math

 The  73rd Republic day has been celebrated at our Ashrama premises following the COVID-19 protocol. The program commenced with flag hoisting by Swami Bhaktimayananda, Ramakrishna Mission Saradapith, Belur Math along with the singing of the National Anthem. This was followed by songs, dances and speeches. The speeches were delivered by 3 students, teachers of GAP along with the guest speaker Mr. Bijilesh, trainer for UPSC, KPSC competitive examination. 

To mark the glorious  73rd Republic day and Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav we distributed  mask packets (each packet containing 50 pieces) and 75 no. of  sanitizers to 75 people. These were distributed by Guest Maharaj Swami Bhaktimayananda Maharaj. The program concluded with the distribution of prasad.

Celebrated Swami Vivekananda 160th Birthday (Tithi Puja)

The 160th Tithi Puja of Swami Vivekananda was celebrated in our Ashrama. On the Holy occasion, Special puja & Homa were performed & Anna Bhog was offered to the Holy Trio. Bhajans were sung throughout the puja. Cooked Prasad was distributed to about 50 devotees.

Mr. Bijilesh is a trainer of competitive examinations like UPSC, SSC & KPSC spoke on this Holy occasion. The programme was conducted with strictly maintaining the COVID-19 protocol.

National Youth Day & Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrated at Koyilandy Math

National Youth Day & Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the glorious program has been celebrated with great joy and solemnity on 12 January, 2022 at our Ashrama Auditorium in physical mode. Around one hundred participants witnessed the programme. The programme commenced with prayer and opening song followed by a speech delivered by the Chief Guest. It also included songs performed by the students and speeches delivered by the teachers of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa.

The Chief Guest of the programme, Mr. Bijilesh is a trainer of competitive examinations like UPSC, SSC & KPSC for higher students. 

In order to make people in and around Kerala aware of this program, we invited electronic and print media like Malabar T.V, Vartha T.V, YES T.V , Mathrubhumi and Malayala Manorama newspapers to take coverage of the programme.

The temple and other buildings have been illuminated colorfully to mark the celebration in a grand way. At the end of the celebration we distributed books of Swami Vivekananda and Prasad.

Celebrated Kalpataru Utsav on 1st January 2022 at Koyilandy Math

The Kalpataru Utsav was celebrated in the Ashrama premises on 1st January 2022 in the evening in which 85 devotees took part.

The programme started with Vedic Chanting followed by reading from The Scripture & bhajans.

Swami Narasimhanandaji Maharaj, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Kozhikode was the chief guest and spoke on “Sri Ramakrishna Kalpataru”. Mr Manoj Kumar Principal of Higher Secondary school, Kozhikode. was the Guest of Honour. He enlightened the devotees with various insights on the holy occasion.

The programme concluded with the closing song & Prasad was distributed to all.

169 birthday celebration of Holy Mother Sarada Devi

The 169th Tithi Puja of Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi was celebrated in our Ashrama. On the Holy occasion, Special Puja & Homa were performed & Anna Bhog was offered to Holy Mother. The Bhajans were sung throughout the puja. Diwali Celebrated & Welfare Activities done on 4th November 2021

We celebrated kali puja yesterday (4th Nov) by placing a picture of Maa Kali in our shrine. After evening arati of Sri Ramakrishna Bhajans, Pushpanjali and Arati were duly performed.  At the end of the  puja, 60 devotees took prasad.

We chose this occasion to  give scholarships to 4 poor students. One of them is an MBBS student and the others are college students. 

This apart we  distributed  dresses to 20 impoverished children.

Sarees distributed at Koyilandy

On the Holy occasion of Navaratri we distributed 50 nos of sarees to poor women on the  Maha  ashtami day, the 13th October, 2021. They belong to various pockets of the foothills from Koyilandy village, Kozhikode district. 

Celebrated Sri Krishna Janmashtami 30th Aug 2021

We celebrated Sri Krishna Janmashtami in our Ashrama on Monday, the 30th August, 2021.  We had Bhagavat Gita chanting of all chapters in the morning.  Sri Krishna Puja was performed followed by  sandhya arathi  at 7pm after which we had Bhajans and  Pushpanjali. At the end prasad was distributed to about 20 devotees.

Onam Celebrated on 20th Aug 2021

We celebrated Onam, the core festival of Keralites on Friday the 20th August, 2021.  This is chiefly to  commemorate King Mahabali, whose spirit is believed to grace this auspicious occasion personally. 

The programme began with prayers followed by bhajans etc at the Ashrama shrine with few students and teachers. On this auspicious day we distributed bed sheets to the few local volunteers. After concluding, prasad was distributed to the GAP students, Teachers, a few devotees and volunteers.

75th independence day celebrated

Today 15th August, the Sunday 2021, being the 75th Independence Day we celebrated the same at our Ashrama premises. A few Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa (GAP) students and teachers were present.

National flag was hoisted by Swami Sundarananda followed by a speech and a short cultural activity by the students. Program was concluded with the National anthem and we distributed prasad to all the participants.

Nutritious food distributed of Covid-19

As the 3rd wave of COVID-19 is expected to hit us and particularly Children are more prone to it, we distributed Nutritious kits to 125 tribal children from villages of Kannur and Kozhikode districts on 27th July and 1st August, 2021 respectively.  Each kit contained one box of Chyawanprash, half kg Milk powder and half kg Dates.

On request of the Headmasters, we have distributed study materials on 2nd, 5th & 6th of July 2021 containing notebooks, pens and geometry boxes to 404 poor students of 6 primary schools in our locality.

Puja, Bhajans, Homa and Memorial Meeting of Srimath Swami Shivamayanandaji Maharaj

In connection with the Mahasamadhi of Most Revered Srimath Swami  Shivamayanandaji Maharaj on the 11th June,  we  performed a special ceremony at our Ashrama today, 23rd June 2021.

This began with mangalarati followed by   Puja, Bhajans, Homa and Bhogarati. Thereafter we had a Memorial Meeting in virtual live. Swami Narashimhanandaji Maharaj, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission sevashram, Kozhikode and Swami Nandatmajanandaji Maharaj, editor of Prabuddha keralam shared their  thoughts and reminiscences about Most Revered Maharaj. Around 30 of us took Prasad along with 2  Swamijis from Ramakrishna Mission sevashram, Kozhikode.

Apart from live streaming, all programs were uploaded in the “Ramakrishna Math Koyilandy”  Youtube channel enabling you to watch the same.

Study materials distributed to students

As you are aware that Ramakrishna Math, Koyilandy is running Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa(GAP) wherein 53 underprivileged students are given free tuition, study materials & daily necessities like nutritious food and toiletries etc.

 

Since corona pandemic is in virulent form, all are confined to their home and are attending the classes online. 

 

In the midst of this calamity we have delivered kits containing study materials (for one year), toiletries (for one month) and food packets (for 15 days) for the students straight to their homes.


Celebrated "Phalaharini Kali Puja at  at Koyilandy Math 

We celebrated "Phalaharini Kali puja" at our Ashrama on Wednesday, the 9th June 2021. The puja began after the evening arati followed by bhajans and pushpanjali. At the end of the puja we distributed prasad to around 15 to 16 devotees.

COVID-19 Relief Work at Koyilandy Math

The entire Kerala society is debilitated in view of  lock down followed by acute Covid and also torrential rains.

 

In order to console them we delivered Kits containing Grocery and vegetables straight to their doors on Friday the 28th May 2021. We started with 20 families who hail from the hilltop and foothill zones of Koyilandy. 

 

The kits included Rice, Chana dal, Moong dal, Atta, Sugar, Potatoes, Onions, Edible oil, Turmeric powder, Chilly powder and Coriander Powder.

PPE Kits Distributed

        In the wake of Covid-19 second wave, we distributed 20 PPE kits containing masks, gloves and eye protectors etc. to the Panchayat members on Sunday the 23rd May 2021. This will guard them against health or safety risks whatsoever while serving corona patients clustered around the Koyilandy area. 

        No sooner has the triple lock down lifted we have plans to distribute food packets to the families afflicted by Covid.

Second wave of covid-19

In the wake of the second wave of covid-19, many people are virulently affected in and around our area. There are families who are all affected by Corona, no way to go out. In this very critical circumstances we have given provision kits like all types of vegetables, rice, dal & masala to 2 families for 10 days.

Renovation house of a Poor family

        We are glad to inform you that we have taken initiative to renovate & repair a dilapidated house of a very poor family. The owner is mentally challenged and there is no earning member in the family. It is located in the Uttery area in Arikkulam village, Kozikhode district, Kerala, which is around 7 km from our Ashrama.

        In addition a kitchen, water well with motor, bathroom cum toilet with all sanitary fittings were newly constructed.The electrical wiring with all accessories like fan & lights etc. were also done.

        The house was inaugurated on Wednesday, 14th April 2021, the holy occasion of Vishu (Malayalam New Year).

Distributed 08 Tailoring Machines

        On the holy occasion of Dol Purnima day, we distributed 08 tailoring machines to the poor and needy in different villages of Kannur district.

Re-launching of Koyilandy Math Website

        On the holy occasion of Dol Purnima day, Srimat Swami Shivamayanandaji Maharaj has re-launched our website. Maharaj did the re-launching from Kankurgachi Ashrama, online. Revered Maharaj has given a benedictory address on this occasion in virtual mode.

Celebrated 186 Sri Ramakrishna Jayanti . 

         The 186th Tithi Puja of Sri Sri Thakur was celebrated in our Ashrama on Monday, 15th of March 2021. On this Holy occasion, Special Puja & Homa were performed & Anna Bhog was offered to Thakur. Special bhajans were sung by Swapta Swara Singing Group throughout the puja. Cooked Prasad was distributed to more than 150 devotees.

          One of our devotees Shri Shynaj & Shri K Ramakrishnan, Retd. Teacher of Thalassery RAC Higher Secondary School, Kerala, spoke on the Holy Occasion.

Maha Shivaratri Puja observed

        Maha Shivaratri was solemnly observed in our Ashrama on Thursday 11th March (Magha Krishna Chaturdashi).The dashopchar puja started after sandhya arati with the offering of sweets & fruits. The abhisheka of Shiva lingam was done with 4-items by the devotees also. 


        The puja was attended by 25 devotees. In the end, prasad was distributed to devotees and volunteers. 

Tuition fee assistance


        A girl named Deepna T P from the fishermen colony, Koyilandy approached us seeking financial assistance for pursuing her 1st year of MBBS course. Considering her penurious background we have given her a part payment of Rs.15000 by cheque on the 5th of Mar '21 towards tuition and hostel fee along with Holy Mother Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda's life and Messages book. She will be joining AL AZHRA medical College and Hospital, Thodupuzha, Idikki- district, Kerala around June 2021.

        In order to motivate her, we have assured of future assistance based on her performance. 

Celebrated 159th Swami Vivekananda Jayanti

            The 159th Tithi Puja of Swami Vivekananda was celebrated in our Ashrama. On the Holy occasion, Special puja & Homa were performed & Anna Bhog was offered to the Holy Trio. Bhajans were sung throughout the puja. Cooked Prasad was distributed to about 100 devotees.

           Mr. Manoj Kumar, Principal of Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Higher Secondary School, Kozhikode, spoke on the Holy occasion. The programme was conducted, maintaining the covid-19 protocol.

Organized a Parents meet of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa (GAP) On 31st January, 2021

        We organized a meeting for the parents of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa (GAP) on Sunday the 31st January, 2021. In view of COVID-19 pandemic we had online classes and monthly tests for the students. As they were confined to home and attending virtual classes, their performance was not satisfactory. In order to give comfort level, we invited both the parents and students for an interaction session guided by 3 teachers. Around 50 parents participated. We distributed Prasad to all at the end.

Celebrated Republic Day on 26th January, 2021.

        We celebrated the 72nd Republic day on 26th January,2021 at our Ashrama premises along with the children of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa (GAP). The programme commenced with flag hoisting, followed by patriotic songs, speeches by  GAP students and teachers along with some cultural activities like dance etc.

 

     It ended with a prasad distribution to the students and all other people present. 

Celebrated national youth day on 12thJanuary, 2021

         The National youth day was celebrated in our Ashrama today in a simple manner. Students of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa (GAP) & other local students were invited. The programme started with the singing of prayers followed by speeches from teachers & students. 


      Most Revered Swami Swaprabhanandaji Maharaj, Thiruvananthapuram, spoke on the occasion. In the end, National Anthem & Prasad were distributed to more than 60 people.

             

        The programme was conducted, maintaining the covid-19 protocol.

        The 168th Tithi Puja of Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi was celebrated in our Ashrama. On the Holy occasion, Special Puja & Homa were performed & Anna Bhog was offered to Holy Mother. Bhajans were sung throughout the puja. Cooked Prasad was distributed to more than 150 devotees.

Celebrated Kalpataru Utsav

        Kalpataru Utsav was celebrated in the Ashrama premises on 1st January, 2021 in the evening in which 72 devotees took part.The programme started with Vedic Chanting followed with reading from The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna & bhajans.

        Swami Narasimhanandaji Maharaj, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Kozhikode was the chief guest and spoke on “Sri Ramakrishna Kalpataru”. Swami Swaprabhanandaji Maharaj, Thiruvananthapuram was the Guest of Honour & enlightened us with various insights on the holy occasion.

        The programme was concluded with the closing song & prasad was distributed to all.

Christmas Eve Celebration

        Christmas Eve was celebrated at our math after the evening arati of Sri Sri Thakur on 24th December. Special offerings of cakes, chocolates, fruits, etc. were offered to the Lord on the holy occasion. Carols were sung and the selected portion from The Bible was read out marking the birth of The Lord Jesus Christ.

Divine Mother Kali Puja Celebration

        By the grace of The Divine Mother the festival of lights was celebrated in our Math in a simple way. The Divine Mother Kali was worshiped in picture with dashopchar followed by arati & pushpanjali. Offered prasad was distributed to around 30 devotees. Some snaps are attached in the link below.

Updates of Rashtriya Poshan Maah

        I feel very happy to inform you that we have encouraged the participants of the kitchen garden program held on 27th September.
Based on their growth of the seeds we have given fertilizers & kitchen grow bags to 28 people for further growth of their vegetable garden. These were sponsored by Rotary club of Koyilandy. We have also promised them other necessities for the same in the future. At the end of the program, prasad was distributed.

Rashtriya POSHAN Maah in September 2020

        In accordance with "Observing Rashtriya POSHAN Maah in September 2020", a series of programmes were organised for creating awareness regarding health, nutrition, drinking water, sanitation & addressing environmental issues. These were done in two phases. In the first phase a programme was organised to plant and distribute on 20th September, 2020(Sunday) 300 saplings in different public places like police stations, temple compounds etc.
    In the second phase 2 other programmes were conducted in the morning & evening sessions, the following Sunday i.e. 27th September, 2020.
    In the morning session a programme was conducted which was attended by 19 women. Dr. Varsha (MBBS, M.D.) spoke on issues regarding health & hygiene, nutrition & child care along with sanitation & pure drinking water process. The attendants were given chyawanprash as a health supplement along with food packets and booklets of holy Trio in the end of the programme.
    In another programme for creating awareness and promoting the Kitchen Garden, Mr. Sushil Kunnmmal (Agriculturist) spoke in the evening session which was attended by 33 persons. He addressed issues like kitchen waste management, organic manure processing and enhancing productivity in the vegetable garden. In the end vegetable seeds, food packets and booklets of holy Trio were distributed.
    Both the sessions were conducted maintaining Covid-19 protocols strictly.

Onam Festival at Koyilandy Math

    We celebrated Onam the core festival of Keralites on 31st Aug 2020. This is chiefly to commemorate King Mahabali, whose spirit is believed to grace this auspicious occasion personally.
    We strictly adhered to COVID-19 norms.
    The programme began with prayers followed by bhajans etc at the Ashrama shrine. After concluding, prasad was distributed to the GAP students, a few devotees and volunteers.

COVID-19 Relief Work done for GAP Students

    This is to inform you that the COVID-19 relief work has been conducted by our Ashrama on 13th April. Kits containing food ration for one month that included commodities for 3 meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) a day, were distributed among 57 Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa students as well as the teachers. All of them are from the coastal area of the Arabian sea.
    The items include:-    Rice- 560 kg, Channa dal 170kg, Sugar- 85 kg, Atta- 110kg, Rava- 85kg, Harlicks- 57 bottles, Moong Dal- 162kg, Turmeric powder- 10kg, Chilli powder 20kg, coconut oil- 60 litrs, Sunflower oil 60 liters. Entire groceries items are sponsored by "GLOBSYN CRYSTALS group, Kolkata".

CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) Relief Work at Koyilandy

        In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic outbreak all are confined to their homes for long and more particularly laborers on daily wages go through unbearable hardship without jobs. We have identified 40 such families from 3 villages for groceries distribution on 31st March 2020.
        This apart, we have intended supplying sanitizing items to 150 policemen from 2 police stations ( Koyilandy and Atholi).
2nd phase distribution of moong dal and rice kits to 700 families from different villages of Kozhikode district will be taken up in course of time.

Truss Roof opened and Mantra Diksha by Srimath Swami Shivamayanandaji Maharaj

    Most Revered Srimath Swami Shivamayanandaji Maharaj visited our Ashrama for 5 days from 11th March to 16th March, 2020. On this occasion we had the opening of Truss roof over the education building on 12th March in presence of many monks and devotees. We also held a public meeting with the devotees. Swamis Golokanandaji a senior monk from Thiruvananthapuram, Atmaghananandaji of Kanchipuram, Nandatmajanandaji of Thrissur and Vitasanganandaji of Kozhikode had been the speakers. 

    Swami Vinirmuktanandaji Maharaj of Kochi rendered the classical bhajan in the programme. At the end of the celebration we served lunch prasad to about 275 people. On 14th March, Revered Maharaj blessed 93 devotees by giving initiation.

Costumes distributed to the poor people

        We have organized as part of distress relief activities, we took up clothes distribution on the 16th of February, 2020 Sunday for 500 poor families @3 nos at 1 village(Fishermen Colony) in Kozhikode district.

Youth Convention at Koyilandy 2019

    We have organized a youth convention on 16th November, Saturday, 2019 at our Math. Dr.TGK Murty Distinguished Scientist of ISRO, who developed strategic cameras for satellites, received number of awards and author of book Swami vivekananda an intuitive Scientist, Bangalore was the chief guest and main speaker. He gave talk with core values drawn from Swami Vivekananda and achievements of “ISRO”. A video clip on latest ISRO manned mission was presented. 68 plus 2 students from different schools participated. He had also a question answer interaction with the students. All of them participated actively and with abundant enthusiasm .Few parents, devotees and teachers totalling 100 people participated in the program. At the end we served noon Prasad to all participants.

Onam celebration

        Onam is the most popular festival in Kerala and is celebrated with great pomp and show. It is believed to be the National festival of Kerala. Onam is celebrated each year in the Malayalam calendar month of Chingam. In this auspicious connection we have celebrated the same with our GAP students in a pomp solemnity.

        In the midst of the grand celebrations on 10th September, Tuesday, 2019 we have given away 10 nos Sewing machine (Tailoring machines) to the 10 flood Victims in the presence of the students, devotees and admirers. There are inhabitants of different villages in Kozhikode district and these machines will enable them to improve their hand to mouth living condition. At the end of the function we distributed prasadam to all of them.

Celebrated monks' quarters opening ceremony

    On 1st January, 2019, "Ramakrishna Kalpataru Divas", Koyilandy Ashrama, declared opening of the newly built Monks' quarters with 3 rooms in the presence of nearly 26 Monks and Brahmacharis from different branch centers of Kerala. Swami Atmaghanandaji, Adhyaksha of Kanchipuram and Swami Nandatmajanandaji, editor of Prabuddha Keralam were the chief guest and guest of honour respectively. The programme started with an invocation song followed by guideded meditation, bhajans and lectures. We also held a spiritual retreat on Sri Ramakrishna's Kalpataru. At the end of the programme about 470 devotees, parents and others received prasadam.
